I'm obsessed with vintage sewing patterns. I collect them. My goal is to someday make reproductions. Unfortunately its hard to find patterns in sizes bigger than extra small.

junk journaling

I have a special love for junk journaling. A junk journal is defined as follows; "a handmade book made from recycled and found materials that can be used to record memories, thoughts, and ideas." I love a variety of aesthetics in journals, but especially vintage/antique, grunge, and nature-themed ones.

ball jointed dolls

BJD have always intrigued me, but i've never owned a full-fledged one. I yearn for a Blythe doll in particular.

art nouveau

art nouveau was popular between 1890 and 1910 during the Belle Époque period. it was an aesthetic movement inspired by the natural world.

retro toys and plushies

i am obsessed with vintage rushton stuffed animals, 1950s teddy bears, edward mobley squeaky toys, and kewpies! I also collect vintage planters and decor.

the beat generation

I've been obsessed with the beatniks my entire life, and that's reflected heavily in my poetry. The first beatnik whose work I loved was Allen Ginsberg, I read most of his journals, they sit on my favorites shelf currently. I even have a picture of Jack Kerouac and Allen plastered in my living room. The name of my blog and website is "Dharma Bum Poetess" as a homage to Jack. My two all-time favorite beat poets beside allen are Lenore Kandel and Bob Kaufman.
