various information and links to other gardensyou and your mind garden | building a digital garden

what is a digital garden?

a digital garden is a playscape of possibilities. it is an organic archive of thoughts, an akashic library of links, it is the artistry of building a second brain, a mind garden of sorts and a digital cornucopia.
nesslabs describes the act of caring for a digital garden in 3 steps.
cultivate your curiosity (the seeds)
grow your knowledge (the trees)
and produce new thoughts (the fruit)
she also says that sometimes 2 seemingly remote or even incompatible ideas will give birth to new insight.
tom critchlow says that a "digital garden is an enviornment you can tend to and grow over decades." i've also seen it described as a personal wikipedia page full of whimsy.
this was the video that exposed me to what digital gardening was, but her take on the subject is to watch films and tv shows, take notes, then write down your thoughts- and later draw the connections. most digital gardeners compile various forms of media, usually textual.
on tom critchlows article about building your own digital garden, he links to a variety of other digital gardens that you can go check out.
